Lands were transferred from the Cleveland National Forest to the Los Coyotes Reservation by Executive
Order in 1889. However, the lands set apart as the Los Coyotes Reservation, was established as such, much later
on June 19, 1900.

Today, the Los Coyotes Reservation is home to the Cahuilla and
